Purchase Agreement with Country Doodles
I, _____________________________________ (Buyer) paid a non-refundable deposit of $500. to Kimberly Sutherland (Breeder) at Country Doodles, on __________________________ (date). This deposit ensures that I will receive a Goldendoodle puppy from the current litter, based on the order in which applications with deposits were received by Country Doodles. If there is not a puppy available that suits the buyer, the deposit may be put toward a future litter or returned in full.
The balance of the purchase price of the puppy will be paid on or before the puppy is picked up, ___________________, (date), when the puppies are approximately eight weeks old. The deposit is refundable only if death or illness occurs before the selection date, and the full payment is refundable only if death or illness occurs before the pick-up date. If within one week of purchase the buyer decides to return the puppy for any reason, the Breeder will refund two-thirds of the purchase price.

Unless prior arrangements have been made, the Breeder is not expected to hold the puppy past the agreed upon pick-up date when the puppy is approximately 8 weeks old. The Buyer understands that if they do not come to pick up their puppy on the agreed-upon pick-up date, this agreement would become null and void, the Breeder would no longer be obligated to hold the puppy, and deposit money paid to the Breeder would not be refunded. The Breeder reserves the right to keep the puppy longer if, for any reason, she believes the puppy is not yet ready to go to its new home.

Country Doodles agrees to provide a puppy that is in good health at the time of sale. As documented in the attached Health Record, the puppy will have been checked by a veterinarian, had its first set of shots and been dewormed. The Buyer agrees to take their puppy to be checked by a Licensed Vet within three days of accepting it. If the Vet provides a written statement deeming the puppy “unhealthy for purchase,” and provided the puppy has not been injured or neglected, a full refund will be provided. In such rare circumstances, the Buyer agrees to contact Country Doodles immediately to set this up. The puppy must be promptly returned to Country Doodles so the Breeder can ensure proper treatment. (Dogs with Coccidia or Giardia are not considered unhealthy, as these are common, easily treatable worms.) The Buyer agrees not to go ahead with any medical procedures because Country Doodles does not cover pet medical costs initiated by any Buyer.

At Country Doodles, all of the breeding dogs are health tested for appropriate genetic health issues. The Breeder extends a two year guarantee against any genetic disorder that would result in the death of a puppy. In such an event, a necropsy must be ordered at the expense of the Buyer and sent to the Breeder. Within twelve months of the necropsy report being received, it will be up to the Breeder to provide either a replacement puppy or a refund.

The Buyer agrees that it is their responsibility to familiarize themselves with the nature of the Goldendoodle breed and any medical conditions related to the breed. The Buyer understands that it is natural for the puppy to take time to settle into its new surroundings, or to be interested in eating, drinking and being sociable. The Buyer agrees to not expose their puppy to other dogs that may not be vaccinated, until it has completed the entire vaccination schedule, at around 16-20 weeks old. The Buyer also needs to maintain the dog’s ideal body weight, as obesity can cause illnesses such as hip problems. A high quality formula dog food.is recommended.

Country Doodles provides age-appropriate training with all puppies before they leave for their new homes. The Breeder assumes no responsibility for subsequent training difficulties or behavior problems. The Buyer is expected to work with their puppy and if training is beyond the scope of their ability, to seek professional training services. The Buyer acknowledges that without proper training and exercise, or if it is mishandled, their puppy’s temperament may change. The Buyer understands that for the first year of its life, to allow for proper joint and bone development, their puppy should be exercised moderately with short walks, swimming and supervised play with other dogs, and only be allowed to climb stairs on occasion.

Country Doodles recommends protecting the financial and emotional investment the Buyer has made in their Goldendoodle, by purchasing complete annual health insurance coverage for it. Accidents and illnesses do happen, so this coverage should begin immediately after the dog has seen its vet.

The Buyer agrees that their puppy is being purchased as a pet and this is a Non-Breeding contract. The Breeder does not guarantee fertility or show worthiness as all Country Doodles puppies are only ever sold as pets/companion dogs. The Buyer agrees to have their puppy spayed or neutered by 14 months of age, and to provide the Breeder with documentation from their vet if requested. The Buyer agrees that any puppies resulting from an accidental litter will belong to the Breeder. Any legal fees incurred by the Breeder to enforce this non-breeding contract are the sole responsibility of the Buyer. Payment of these damages would not lift this non-breeding contract and the dog would still have to be altered at the earliest time.

The Buyer agrees that if they are ever unable to keep or care for their dog, they will notify the Breeder. Country Doodles will take back a dog of any age at any time, and will find a safe forever home for it. If a puppy that is under a year old is returned and can be sold, a percentage of the amount may be returned to the original Buyer. Our goal is to ensure that no dog originating from Country Doodles ever needs to be rescued or placed in a shelter.

The Buyer agrees not to sue the Breeder for any reason, or be responsible to pay any and all court and attorney fees incurred by the Breeder should any suit be brought against her regarding this dog.

Country Doodles assumes no responsibility for any medical expenses incurred once a puppy has left our premises in the care of the Buyer. The Buyer understands the financial and personal obligation of accepting a puppy into their home. The Buyer agrees and promises to provide high quality food, shelter, medical care, loving affection, playful interaction and proper training to their puppy for life.
The signatures below indicate the Breeder and Buyer fully understand and agree to the above terms.
This contract constitutes a legally binding agreement.
