Step 1: Application and Deposit

Complete the Application form below and E-transfer a deposit of $500. The balance of the payment will be due in CASH at the time you come to Country Doodles to choose your puppy at about six weeks.
Soon after the puppies are born, notification will be sent to all applicants. Videos will be posted introducing the newborns, the number of males and females, and their colours. More videos will be regularly posted for applicant families to enjoy watching the puppies as they grow.
By sending a deposit, applicant families are committing to a puppy. If we have more applications that we get puppies, or if an applicant family wants a puppy with very specific traits and is not able to get one from the litter for which they qualify, the deposit will be held until the next litter. They would then have first choice. If a family is offered and refuses puppies from three litters, they will then forfeit their deposit.
Please be sure, when you send the deposit, that you are ready to bring a puppy into your life. If you change your mind, you are abandoning your deposit. We also reserve the right to return your deposit if we do not feel that your home would be a good fit.
Upon acceptance of your application, you will be provided with a Purchase of Agreement from Country Doodles to be signed when you come to choose your puppy at six weeks. This document contains a non-breeding agreement, and also asks that you agree to the time, effort and expense to train your dog well.

Step 2: Choose Your Puppy

Unlike most other breeders, we invite our applicant families to come to Country Doodles and choose your own puppy! After the puppies have been cleared for health by our vet at about 6 weeks of age, a mutually workable date and time will be arranged for your visit. The order in which your family may choose a puppy is based strictly on the order in which applications with deposits are received.
Your family’s visit to Country Doodles is important for several reasons. Again unlike most other breeders, you will see our nursery where your puppy spent its earliest formative period of life, meet both the mother and father and all siblings, and their human caregivers. Families can discuss any concerns and have all their questions answered.
If your family is not able to come in person, we will choose a puppy for you at your allotted time, based on your preference and the puppies that are still available. Alternatively, if you tell us the order in which you would choose, we will reserve one for you, again based on which puppies are still available. We may even be able to do this together on FaceTime.
Step 3: Bring Home Your Puppy
Our puppies are ready to go home with you when they are about eight weeks old. We will have contacted you to arrange a good time. All puppies will have been examined by our vet and will have a Health Record documenting their first immunizations. To help them transition from our home to yours, our puppies will each bring a blanket that smells of their mother and siblings, and a gift bag. They will already be trained to sleep alone in a small crate, so they are unlikely to cry through the night. Our puppies will also have begun learning to eliminate in a specific area, so this will help you train them to go outside at your home.
To help families be as well-prepared as possible, we will provide you with Country Doodles’ own “Puppy-Proof Your Home” checklist. You will also have received our “New Puppy Checklist.” This identifies various arrangements you need to have made in advance, and lists of supplies to have ready to use immediately.
If you are not able to come in person to pick up your puppy, we are willing to discuss alternative arrangements and costs to either deliver them to you, or to extend their stay here at Country Doodles.
